1849 Queen Victoria gold Sovereign

Rated Rare 

Recovered from RMS Duoro which sank after a collision in 1882. The ship contained amongst other valuables, 28,000 gold sovereigns. The cargo was salvaged in 1995 and it consisted of sovereigns dated 1838 to 1881. These coins were auctioned by Spink and sold directly by the salvage company owner in 2003.
