2020 Withdrawal from the European Union Strike-on-the-Day Gold Sovereign Coin. This special sovereign features an exclusive crowned portcullis privy mark. Only 1,500 of these coins have been minted. 

The sovereign is issued in brilliant uncirculated condition and was struck on 31st January, 2020, the day the UK withdrew from the European Union.

EU Referendum

After the EU Referendum on 23rd June 2016, the UK finally left the European Union on 31st January 2020. The withdrawal date was delayed twice beforehand due to British government requests for extensions to the negotiating process.

Obverse

The Jody Clark coinage effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse. 

Reverse

The reverse features the iconic St George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci. 

The crowned portcullis privy mark can be found to the left of the date.
